Welcome to your Library!  Yes, your Library.  This is your place to read, learn, explore, make connections and dream big.  Whether you want to borrow the latest best seller, bring your child to Storytime, check out a Wi-Fi hotspot, use a computer, or need research help, we are here for you.

DESCRIPTION

The Mt. Zion District Library is a tax supported library serving a population base of 12,479 (according to the last census).   There are approximately 50,000 plus items in the collection which includes print books, magazines, books on cd, music cds, DVDs and VHS tapes. We are a member of the Illinois Heartland Library System.  If you don't see what you want on the shelf, the library staff will be happy to place a request or locate it system or statewide.

As of November 2021 the library employs 5 full-time staff and 5 part-time staff.

The mission of the Mt. Zion District Library is to provide the people of its community with access to a balanced collection of books and other materials, services and programming which will serve their educational, cultural and recreational needs.
